The week so far

This week was a little "meh." First, we lost our fixture this week against Hereworth and then we had to drive back 6 hours. The highlight of the bus ride was our dominoes pizza in Taupo.

We were walking around the park. It was a scorching hot day, and a bead of sweat dribbled down the side of my forehead. When out of the blue the ground rumbled and started shaking. A man in a blue jacket yelled as the ground split between him. The kids from the boarding house screamed and ran. Mr. Rees-Gibbs was frantically trying to gather everyone when disaster struck. A nearby tree fell and nearly crushed us. The sound of fear filled the air as even more people screamed. Mr. Rees-Gibbs did a head counted when he finished he went quiet. He broke the silence with two words; “Where is John.” What if I was in charge, would John be there?

The Trees    Silence filled the crisp air. The leaves rustled as if they were trying to get away from the tree. Birds fluttered around the tops of the trees. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed something. The trees were slowly moving. I stumbled backward in surprise. Which drew their attention to me. One of them yelled out “hulabutha.” Every single one they turned and charged. At that point, I realized that I was either going to end up as flat Stanley 2 or die roasting over a giant wood pile. I ran and ran until finally, they caught me.
